Biography
Leslie Avendano is a Salvadoran singer-songwriter whose powerful voice and emotional depth define her artistry. She began singing at the age of 13 in church and later developed strong classical training, allowing her to move seamlessly across genres. At 18, she joined the choir of a symphonic orchestra in El Salvador, quickly becoming a soloist and performing in some of the country’s most iconic theaters. She has also built an extensive background in studio work, recording vocals for multiple projects and collaborating with industry professionals, including Latin Grammy-winning producer Josué Pineda. Her talent has been recognized through major achievements, including winning first place in her category at NATS and advancing to the semi-finals in Knoxville, USA (2024), representing the University of Guelph, as well as first place at the Kiwanis Music Festival in Guelph. In 2021, Leslie released her debut Spanish single “Me Amaste,” which reached the top 10 charts for consecutive weeks. After moving to Canada, she continued to gain recognition through competitions such as Open Mic Canada and the Vibrant Brampton Talent Hunt, and has performed at major events and venues including City Playhouse Theatre and DC Music Toronto Rehearsal and Sound Stage, as well as the Vibrant Brampton Music Festival and the annual ItalFest at Mississauga Celebration Square. In 2025, she performed as the lead singer of her salsa band in a sold-out show and has since continued performing alongside talented musicians across Toronto, Guelph, London, Kitchener, and Waterloo. Currently majoring in music at the University of Guelph, Leslie is working on upcoming releases while continuing to captivate audiences through performances that feel both powerful and deeply personal.
